"The connection between fragrance and lifestyle art pieces..."
The Cartier Crash watch is one of the most iconic and avant-garde timepieces in the world; it is a symbol of innovation, luxury & bends the traditional watch design.
Although there is no direct evidence to the connection between the crash and Salvador Dali's famous painting "The Persistence of Memory" the similarities in the distorted, fluid forms are undeniable. Dali, like Cartier, was a master of bending reality and challenging perceptions. His work broke the conventions of art, just as the Crash broke the conventions of watch design.
As we designed this piece, we wanted to keep it as true to original state as possible; we made sure to enhance certain points to create depth and to also stay true to the “melting” watch design.
We hope you enjoy another piece from this collection.
